Our Story

The dream of opening a restaurant in the beautiful city of Boston is one that is shared by many, but the road to making it happen can only be completed by a few. Tatyana learned this over many years as she fought to make Fromage a must stop destination in Boston, and today it is just that, bringing her diners the best in wines and cheeses from all over the world. With a full menu for both lunch and dinner, as well as an extensive and superb wine/cheese selection, Fromage is truly a one of a kind dining experience.

It’s obvious even at a first glance when you walk through our doors that Fromage is not your typical dining establishment, but there’s even more to discover once you sit down! Driving to vineyards is exciting and definitely an experience to be enjoyed by all, but what if you could do it after work, and with the best and some of the oldest wines in the world? Tatyana took the concept of wine tasting and a fancy weekend away from home, and brought it to your backyard in South Boston. Now you can leave work and stop in for an exquisite meal or spend the night with your friends and family, sipping wine and tasting cheeses, chatting the night away. What separates Fromage from other restaurants? Your night doesn’t have to end when ours does. All wines and cheeses can be purchased and taken home for a night of flavor and perhaps a dash of romance! Fromage is not just another restaurant, it’s a lifestyle.

    As a transplant to Boston, this was my first stop on a trip around my neighborhood. Relaxing, comfortable, and classically European, this small bistro provided all that I needed. The tone and noise level were perfect, and the atmosphere lovely. Looking forward to my next visit.

    I met my friend at Fromage the evening of the Blue Moon. The wine and food were fabulous and the setting was comfortable and relaxing. We’ve been waiting a long time for this place to open and now we can’t wait to go back for some more wine and crepes!

        You could SO do this! You wouldn’t even have to toast the bread. And if you don’t want to make the iivudndial balls, you can take the entire log of cheese and roll it in the herbs. At the stable after a ride, with a nice bottle of wine. Yum, yum, yum! Thanks for visiting and commenting. Merci!

    This place instantly attracted me by the sign outside. I’m a wine enthusiast and a cheese lover. We were lucky enough to discover the deliciousness that is their beef stroganoff. Tatiana, she was amazing. She was patient, asked questions to determine our taste/preference and was extremely engaging, kind and knowledgeable. We feel she made the experience even better than we had anticipated and she most definitely sets the precedent for great service. We will be coming back frequently.

    Lovingly designed by Tatyana, who has years of wine and fine food expertise. The cheeses are fabulous and music played in the restaurant is charming vintage Jazz and pretty vocal music at a COMFORTABLE level. Other restaurants could take a lesson. The food is fresh, sophisticated and elegant.

    This is a hidden gem in Southie! Amazing food (especially appetizers) – upscale atmosphere yet still comfortable and down-to-earth!

    The owner knows her stuff about wine and cheese and is a delight to chat with. Expect attentive service and rarely a wait!

    If you’re looking for a low-key yet classy alternative to the hustle and bustle of Loco or Lincoln, this is an EXCELLENT choice every time!

    PS: You MUST try the bananas foster dessert – mind-blowing!!!

    Clearly it’s just a hidden gem in Boston!

    Food: We got the baked brie and the 5 cheese cheese monger tasting platter. The baked brie was amazing! The cheese plate so good!! Our tasting plate had a triple creme French cheese, a Danish cheddar, a cloth Vermont cheddar, an Italian cheese with white truffle, and a blue cheese with honey.

    Drinks: I got a wine flight with a les violettes rose, a viogner/chenin blanc blend, a nobilo chardonnay, and a nahe riesling. They were all delicious and the waitress was incredibly helpful in picking wines we would like.

    Service was really great! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

    I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!

    we love this place. not big screen tvs blaring everywhere so you can acutally dine and converse and be heard. We have been for dinner a few times and will be going back. It reminds us of smaller restautants
    we have gone to in Europe. Food is really good too and reasonably priced and Tatyana is great.

    The wine was absolutely spectacular, we drank the Broquel Malbec. My boyfriend had the Pate as the appetizer and I had the Bree wrapped in puff pastry with blueberries…Omg both dishes were so good. We also got a 5 cheese platter and 3 meat platter. They were large portions, we still ended up getting more cheese because it was just that good. But the best part had to be Tatiana. She was so kind and so helpful , and extremely knowledgeable about wine, cheese and pairing. We bonded over their delicious food. We are in town for business for a couple of days and this place is just a cherry on top of an awesome trip.
